Yamandú Orsi Denied a Submarine Cable Project Between Montevideo and the Falkland Islands

Uruguay’s president, Yamandú Orsi, denied that there is a plan to lay a submarine cable between Montevideo and the Falkland Islands. According to C5N, the president told the press in the Uruguayan capital that his government never received a proposal or evaluated an initiative of that kind.
Orsi also said that there is a company working on the issue of connectivity, but clarified that it does not have the Falkland Islands as a connection point.
