A survey in Brazil showed divisions over which political sector appears most involved in the Master case

A Datafolha survey released this Friday showed that 34% of Brazilians believe most of the politicians linked to the Master case belong to the left, while 27% think they are right-wing leaders.
According to data published by G1 Globo and Folha de S.Paulo, 10% placed those involved in the center and 13% said the scandal reaches figures from all political camps. Another 16% said they did not know, and no respondents said that no political sectors are implicated.
According to Folha de S.Paulo, the survey was conducted between September 15 and 17 with 2,001 people in 125 municipalities across Brazil. The outlet also said the margin of error is two percentage points and that the poll was registered with the TSE under number BR-04029/2026.
The case centers on Daniel Vorcaro, former banker and owner of Banco Master, in a Federal Police investigation into alleged fraud schemes and a network of influence that, according to G1 Globo, would reach different areas of public power.
Among the names mentioned in the investigation are Ciro Nogueira, suspected of acting in Congress in favor of Vorcaro’s interests; Jaques Wagner, investigated for his ties to Augusto Lima, former partner at Master; and Flávio Bolsonaro, under investigation on suspicion of corruption, money laundering and currency evasion linked to the financing of the film Dark Horse. All denied wrongdoing, according to G1 Globo.
The outlet also said another part of the case file examines whether public funds from parliamentary amendments allocated by Mário Frias were diverted or used in unexecuted contracts related to that audiovisual project. In addition, the Federal Police is investigating former Rio de Janeiro governor Cláudio Castro over alleged irregularities in transfers of resources from Rioprevidência to funds linked to Master, something the politician denies.
The release of the survey coincided with the crisis opened at the STF by the investigation. G1 Globo reported that an extraordinary session called by Edson Fachin to discuss a Federal Police report on messages attributed to Alexandre de Moraes ended without a resolution and that Flávio Dino asked for more time to analyze the case.
