OSE announced the start of works on a new drinking water plant in Aguas Corrientes for late September

OSE president Pablo Ferreri announced that on September 30 the cornerstone will be laid for a new drinking water plant in Aguas Corrientes, at an event scheduled with the حضور of President Yamandú Orsi, Subrayado reported.

According to Ferreri, the plant will have a production capacity of 200,000 cubic meters of drinking water and will use an ionization disinfection system, which will not generate trihalomethanes. Subrayado noted that the work is part of the renegotiation of the Neptuno project together with the seventh pumping line, which will run from Aguas Corrientes to Route 8 at the height of Pando. In parallel, Ferreri reported that OSE completed the purchase of the remaining land needed to install the construction site for the Casupá dam. He also said negotiations continue over the expropriations of the plots where the reservoir will be located.

On financing, he said the $130 million loan from CAF has already had two disbursements totaling more than $10 million. According to Subrayado, OSE is working on the prior environmental authorization and, once that permit is obtained, it will move ahead with the award of the tender and the start of the work.

Ferreri added that the Casupá dam will have a peak of about 700 jobs, both direct and indirect. For that stage, training sessions in construction are scheduled to begin with support from Inefop and the Sunca.
