During the closing session, Otermín highlighted the need to promote concrete responses from the local level and stressed the importance of collective work in the current context. In that framework, he set out the goal of building in Lomas a space with more opportunities, support and community care.
He also underscored the role of the community in the face of adverse situations and said the goal is to move toward a Lomas without violence, with better conditions for boys and girls, women, older adults, people with disabilities, workers, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.
Another of the day’s focal points was the incorporation of artificial intelligence and new technologies into local public administration and daily life. Otermín said those tools must be directed toward the common good and toward expanding opportunities, without replacing personal ties.
According to the report, the Community Congress concluded a process that began in August with territorial and thematic pre-congresses held in the district’s neighborhoods.
