Silvio Ovelar Avoided Taking a Position on Hernán Rivas’ Conviction and Spoke of Apologizing

Senator Silvio Ovelar avoided offering a substantive opinion on the conviction of Hernán Rivas and said he prefers to act cautiously. According to ABC Color, he said Rivas was his colleague and that he does not feel satisfaction over what happened.
“He is a colleague, he was with us and I do not rejoice in anyone’s misfortune,” Ovelar said, according to that outlet. When asked again about the court ruling, he replied that he did not want to comment and that he would reflect on it.
