Orsi Will Travel to the UN with Meetings Scheduled with Regional Leaders and Technology Sector Figures

Uruguay’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported, according to El País, some segments of the agenda that Yamandú Orsi will carry out next week in New York, in the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the president will deliver his speech before the General Assembly on Thursday, September 24. The address could take place in the morning, although some details were still to be defined.
During his visit, Orsi has scheduled meetings with the presidents of Paraguay and Bolivia, Santiago Peña and Rodrigo Paz, within the framework of URUPABOL. In addition, he will hold a meeting with Chilean President José Antonio Kast, and with other leaders within an alliance against organized crime promoted by the Chilean government, always according to the ministry and as reported by El País.
The president’s agenda will also include meetings with business leaders with investments in Uruguay and with figures linked to artificial intelligence.
In parallel, Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin will hold meetings with authorities from foreign ministries of African and European countries, within the framework of Uruguay’s pro tempore presidency of Celac. He will also meet with India’s foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, after the opening of the first Indian embassy in Uruguay weeks ago.
According to the official information cited by El País, Lubetkin will also take part in the handover of the presidency of the Brasilia Consensus, which Uruguay will hand over to Peru.
