More than 400 schools already have satellite connectivity in five departments of the Eastern Region

A total of 413 satellite units are already operating in educational institutions in remote and vulnerable communities in five departments of the country, according to information published by La Nación Paraguay.
The initiative is part of the program Connecting opportunities for Paraguay’s future, aimed at expanding access to high-speed internet in schools and strengthening learning conditions at different academic levels.
In the Eastern Region, the rollout shows uneven progress by department. Canindeyú has 108 installations out of 152 planned, while Ñeembucú, with 17, Cordillera, with 49, Concepción, with 102, and Itapúa, with 141, have already completed all of the scheduled antennas, according to that outlet.
The publication also recalled that 95 schools in the Paraguayan Chaco were previously connected, in a stage presented as strategic for Indigenous Education and the preservation of the cultural identity of native peoples.
The project is promoted by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and carried out by the Paraguayan Communications Company SA, with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Sciences, the National Telecommunications Commission and Starlink, a SpaceX service.
Still according to La Nación Paraguay, each terminal undergoes 60 quality tests and a real-time monitoring system before entering service. The devices also have a Perimeter Electronic Lock, which deactivates the system if it is stolen or moved outside the assigned school grounds.
The next stage plans to prioritize areas of greater social impact through technical and IT mapping, incorporate the C3 Autonomous Platform to filter content and enable a service center with video-call support to respond to failures or intermittent outages.
