French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that the threat of Russian hybrid attacks against his country and the rest of Europe has grown in recent weeks, according to France 24.
After a meeting in Paris with political leaders to assess the international situation, Macron said he had ordered the government to prepare a plan to protect French critical infrastructure and the most sensitive sites in the defense and technology industries against possible drone attacks and cyberattacks.
According to France 24, the president also said the Interior Minister had convened regional prefects to strengthen surveillance against those threats.
Macron warned that covert operations attributed to Russia are spreading across Europe and said France will respond.
