PY12 route advances with base works and complementary works in Presidente Hayes

Construction of the PY12 route continues in the department of Presidente Hayes with work focused on forming the structure that will support the future roadway, according to information released by the MOPC. The route will connect Nanawa with General Bruguez and aims to improve links between communities and productive areas of the Chaco.
The ministry said that in Lot 1 the project shows 78% progress. In that section, 2.5 kilometers of fiber-reinforced concrete pavement and 8.75 kilometers of polymer-modified asphalt concrete have already been completed.
Work is currently under way on the asphalt concrete base and the granular base, key components for distributing traffic loads and providing stability to the pavement. Complementary interventions also continue, including rock fill, the cement-soil subbase, lime-stabilized soil and embankment.
The project also includes two bridges, one over the Confuso’i River and another over the Negro River. In both cases, the approach slab still remains to be built. The MOPC added that the installation of box culverts has already been completed to facilitate drainage beneath the roadway.
The full project covers 166 kilometers divided into four lots. Lot 1 is under the responsibility of Consorcio TEC; Lot 2, of Avanza Chaco; Lot 3, of Consorcio Vial Chaco; and Lot 4, of Consorcio Chaco Sur.
