Promoting screenings of “The Price of the Ticket” in schools in Cordillera and Paraguarí

The educational project Protective Schools, promoted by MINNA, MEC and MITIC, will launch awareness and prevention sessions in institutions in the interior of the country, with a focus on the protection and promotion of the rights of children and adolescents and a special emphasis on human trafficking.
According to MITIC Paraguay, the activities will begin in the departments of Cordillera and Paraguarí with the screening of the medium-length film The Price of the Ticket, a production by Akararuvicha made in collaboration with the Government of Paraguay and the Ministry of Children and Adolescents.
The film, according to the agency, is inspired by a story based on real events and addresses the transnational trafficking of girls, boys and adolescents, as well as other situations of abuse such as domestic violence, abandonment and criadazgo.
The aim of these screenings is to warn about the consequences of falling for traffickers’ false promises and to show the intervention route and support network for victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation, for preventive purposes.
The first screening was announced for Wednesday, September 9, from 08:00 to 15:00, at Colegio Nacional de EMD Mcal. Francisco Solano López in Atyrá. The second will take place on Thursday, September 10, at the same time, at Colegio Nacional de Comercio Yaguarón. The third is scheduled for Friday, September 11, also from 08:00 to 15:00, at Colegio Nacional de EMD Mcal. José F. Estigarribia in Carapeguá.
