Officials from Paraguay's Ombudsman's Office carried out an environmental technical internship in Peru

Officials from Paraguay’s Ombudsman’s Office took part during the week in a technical internship with Peru’s Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency, according to information released by the Paraguayan institution itself.
The activities were carried out in Cusco, Urubamba and Machu Picchu, and included field visits, oversight tasks and exchange sessions on waste management, environmental control, sanctioning procedures and applicable regulatory frameworks.
According to Paraguay’s Ombudsman’s Office, the agenda also included a comparative law focus on powers, violations, corrective measures and environmental protection mechanisms.
The institution said the experience seeks to strengthen capacities and identify best practices for the protection of the environment and people’s rights, within the framework of cooperation between Paraguay and Peru.
