The Paraguayan Senate will consider a bill to raise community health agents’ salaries by 20%

The initiative was introduced on August 6, 2026 by Senator José Oviedo, of Yo Creo, and includes an expansion of G. 7,037,333,333 for the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.
According to ABC Color, the bill applies to contracted personnel charged to Expenditure Object 144 “Daily Wages,” who currently receive G. 2,900,000 per month. The planned increase is G. 580,000 per month and would take effect from the month following the enactment of the law.
The text sets three conditions to access the benefit: serving as a Community Health Agent in a Family Health Unit dependent on the Ministry of Health, being included under Expenditure Object 144, and earning G. 2,900,000 at the time of enactment.
