The Mitic Still Has Not Sent the Senate Information on Digital Campaign Spending

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies continues not to send the Senate the requested documentation on funds allocated to digital advertising, influencers, events and official propaganda, according to ABC Color.
The request was approved by the Chamber of Senators on August 5 at the initiative of Senator Rafael Filizzola. According to that outlet, the goal is to learn the origin and execution of resources administered by Mitic outside the Public Procurement Law, within a scheme that also involves Itaipú Binacional, the Itaipú Technological Park Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme.
Among the documents requested are contracts, payment orders, campaign briefs, social media metrics, internal communications, resolutions, emails and lists of influencers who took part in the institution’s campaigns, always according to ABC Color.
The initial deadline to respond expired on August 27. Filizzola confirmed to ABC Color that the ministry did not deliver the information on that date and chose to request an extension. The lawmaker explained that the new deadline runs for 10 business days from formal notification and estimated that it would expire the following week.
According to ABC Color, this is the fourth information request promoted from Congress in the face of incomplete responses or omissions in previous requests. Filizzola questioned the delay and said the use of the notification process works as a maneuver to delay delivery.
