Camilo Pérez Promised to Renew Asunción at an Event With Leaders From Eight Local Party Branches
The ANR candidate for the capital’s mayoralty led a rally in Sajonia and called for intensifying the campaign ahead of the municipal elections on October 4. At the meeting, he spoke of a cleaner, safer city without potholes.
Camilo Pérez, candidate for mayor of Asunción for List 1 of the National Republican Association, said his municipal proposal aims to change the capital’s image. According to La Nación Paraguay, the candidate led a political rally in the Sajonia neighborhood together with grassroots leaders from eight local party branches.
During the event, held at local branch 23, Pérez said he would not let down his political base and assured that he would seek the renewal of Asunción. He also called for redoubling efforts in the campaign and said that, in a short time, the city can become a clean, safe place without potholes. He also stressed that youth and sports will be pillars of his administration.
According to La Nación Paraguay, the event included representation from local branches 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22, 23 and 24. Also taking part were local branch presidents, party leaders and candidates for council seats.
The outlet also reported that those attending included campaign chief and Chamber of Deputies leader Raúl Latorre; general coordinator and Senator Arnaldo Samaniego; deputy coordinator and adviser to the presidency of the Republic, Jorge “Turi” Capello; Minister of Youth Salma Agüero; and Luisfer Bernal, a member of the List 1 command in Asunción and president of the Empresa de Servicios Sanitarios del Paraguay S.A.
In that context, Samaniego highlighted party unity in the capital with the slogan that everything should remain within the Colorado Party. According to La Nación Paraguay, the lawmaker framed that line as one of the pillars of Pérez’s campaign ahead of the general municipal elections on October 4.
