The Government formalized the temporary appointment of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Rubén Javier Ruffi as the new national director of Mercosur, through Resolution 146/2026 published this Friday in the Official Gazette.
The measure bears the signature of Pablo Quirno, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Nation. The area Ruffi will now lead falls under the Undersecretariat for International Economic Negotiations and Integration, within the Secretariat of International Economic Relations of the Foreign Ministry.
According to C5N, the same resolution also accepted Ruffi’s resignation from his previous post as head of the Directorate of Institutional Affairs of Mercosur.
Ruffi is a career diplomat in the Foreign Service of the Nation.
