Paraguay’s president, Santiago Peña, led the opening in San Estanislao, in the department of San Pedro, of the Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Center “Semillas del Futuro”, aimed at girls and boys between 3 months and 4 years old.

According to La Nación Paraguay, this is the eighth Caipi opened in the country and the first to operate inside an educational institution. The center is located at Escuela Básica N.º 1874 Cnel. Vicente Mongelós.

The facility offers health services, early stimulation, nutrition and support for families. It also has children’s rooms, medical offices, a dining hall, a nursing room, Civil Registry services, a playroom, an inclusive park and training spaces for mothers, fathers and caregivers, according to that outlet.

During the event, Peña said that early childhood care is part of a policy aimed at supporting children from their first months of life and expanding opportunities for families. He also said the San Estanislao experience is intended to serve as a reference for other communities.

The minister for Children and Adolescents, Walter Gutiérrez, explained, according to La Nación Paraguay, that the model is aimed at the cognitive, emotional, physical and social development of children, along with services directed at their families.

La Nación Paraguay added that this center is part of the first group of 50 planned. Peña announced that the ninth will be inaugurated in Yaguarón, in the department of Paraguarí, while new works are advancing in San Pedro in San Pedro de Ycuamandyyú and Choré.
