The Attorney General's Office said Atome has not yet filed a lawsuit or arbitration against Paraguay
The agency clarified that the British company submitted a notice of dispute linked to its project in Villeta. According to the office, a three-month period now opens to seek a negotiated solution.
The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic reported, through a statement released on September 17 and cited by ABC Color, that to date there is no lawsuit or arbitration initiated by Atome PLC against the Paraguayan state.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the document received is a notice of dispute, in which the British company raises the possibility of pursuing legal action later over its green fertilizer project in Villeta.
The agency explained that this communication opens a three-month period to explore an amicable solution between the parties. It also said it is analyzing the company’s arguments and that for now it will not advance an official position on the substance of the dispute.
