The Asociación Nacional Republicana (ANR) – Partido Colorado commemorated another anniversary of its founding, which took place on September 11, 1887, in Asunción, according to Unicanal.

According to that outlet, the founder was General Bernardino Caballero. The founding charter was drafted by José Segundo Decoud, and it was also signed by Higinio Uriarte and Juan Crisóstomo Centurión.

As part of the date, the party president, Horacio Cartes, attended the Pantheon of the Heroes together with ANR leaders to pay tribute to the founder of the political force, Unicanal reported.

During the event, Cartes urged Santiago Peña to give priority to health. According to Unicanal, he said that “health cannot wait” and that there is “no room to postpone” that right enshrined in the National Constitution.

He also said that the ANR should not limit itself to its history or function only as an electoral machine, and urged its supporters to address people’s needs, according to what was published by Unicanal.
