Poll in Brasilia: 46% say they fear another Lula term and 39% the return of the Bolsonaros
A Quaest survey in the Federal District measured perceptions of the presidential race and recorded a technical tie in the first round between Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro.
A Quaest poll released by G1 Globo in Brazil’s Federal District found that 46% of those consulted said they feared a new term for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva more, while 39% said they were more concerned about a return of the Bolsonaro family to power, represented in this case by a possible election of Flávio Bolsonaro.
According to the survey, 8% spontaneously said they fear both scenarios, 3% said they fear neither, and 4% did not know or did not want to answer.
The study, also according to G1 Globo, was conducted among 1,104 people aged 16 or older between September 19 and 22. The margin of error is 3 percentage points and the confidence level is 95%.
In voting intention for the first round in the Federal District, Flávio Bolsonaro appears with 33% and Lula with 32%, in a technical tie. Further behind were Ronaldo Caiado, with 8%; Augusto Cury, with 7%; Renan Santos, with 3%; and Romeu Zema, with 1%. The poll also recorded 8% blank, null or abstention votes and 8% undecided.
For a possible runoff between the two, the survey placed Flávio Bolsonaro at 49% and Lula at 38%. In that scenario, 12% said blank, null or that they would not vote, and 1% said they were undecided.
In addition, G1 Globo indicated that 80% of those interviewed said their voting decision is already final, while 19% said it could still change before the October 4 election.
