The Broad Front links the government’s improvement to poor opposition performance in public opinion

The leadership of the Broad Front analyzed this Monday the recent evolution of polls on the administration of Yamandú Orsi and concluded that the improvement recorded in the government’s approval was not accompanied by a strengthening of the opposition.
According to El País, the director of the Líber Seregni Foundation, Agustín Canzani, presented to the Political Board an expanded report on the latest surveys by Equipos, Factum, Cifra and Usina de Percepción Ciudadana. There he pointed out that the four studies show an improvement in public evaluation of the government, although with limited variations, but consistent in the same direction.
According to the reconstruction by the Uruguayan newspaper based on participants in the meeting, one of Canzani’s main conclusions was that the critical climate toward the government was not necessarily capitalized on by the opposition, since among the population there prevails a clearly negative view of its performance.

Even so, he considered that the slowdown in the decline recorded by the measurements can serve as a starting point to rebuild support for the government among Broad Front voters in the coming months.
At the same meeting, the Political Board issued a statement of support for Senator Blanca Rodríguez over the attacks that, according to the FA, constitute gender-based political violence.
In addition, it resolved to call for a mobilization for Palestine. The statement condemns the actions of the government of Benjamín Netanyahu, calls for the immediate cessation of the attacks, respect for human rights and international law, especially in Lebanon and the West Bank, and proposes a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders. The rally was set for Thursday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at 18 de Julio and Germán Barbato.
