Corina Falcón, president of the Association of Rural Educators of San Juan, questioned the recent changes ordered by the Executive Branch at the Ministry of Public Health and at the Social Security Institute.

According to ABC Color, the leader said she was “concerned and very concerned” about the appointment of Isaías Fretes as health minister and stated that she has no favorable expectations about the change. She also maintained that behind the move there could be an intention to unify public health and IPS services, although she rejected that this be done, she said, to the detriment of workers.

Falcón warned that infrastructure problems, the lack of specialists and difficulties accessing medicines will continue. According to what was published by ABC Color, she also mentioned the continuation of the strike, the resignations of specialists and failures in care, including the lack of beds and the poor functioning of the call center.

One of her main complaints focused on the IPS in San Juan Bautista. There, she said that insured members have been facing problems for months obtaining medicines and stated that they have not had those supplies for four months.

In addition, she recalled that a delegation of insured members and retirees had asked the then president of the IPS, Isaías Fretes, to go to Misiones, but said that commitment was not fulfilled.

Finally, she called on active and retired AERS members to a meeting this Saturday at 08:30 at the Casa del Maestro in San Juan Bautista, to assess the situation and express the discontent of the affected sectors.
