Camilo Pérez proposes strengthening neighborhood committees and sanctioning clandestine dumps in Asunción

Camilo Pérez, candidate for mayor of Asunción on List 1, said that one of the main concerns he gathered during his rounds through the capital is the lack of cleanliness and waste collection. According to La Nación Paraguay, the candidate said he carried out more than 160 walks and that direct contact with residents allowed him to adjust proposals together with his technical team.
In an interview on the program “Fuego cruzado” on GEN/Nación Media, Pérez said the garbage problem cuts across different sectors of the city and warned about the proliferation of clandestine dumps in public spaces. In that context, he called for stricter controls and fines, as well as joint work with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development to pursue those practices, according to La Nación Paraguay.
As part of his proposal, the candidate focused on neighborhood committees.
