Byron Donalds is scheduled to host a community cookout in Miami on Saturday as the latest stop on his Defending the Florida Dream tour, according to Florida Politics.

The event is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. at The Urban, 1000 NW 2nd Ave., in Overtown.

According to the outlet, Donalds launched the tour in The Villages in April. In May he rolled out Latinos for Byron at Hialeah Park, and in August he introduced state Sen. Bryan Avila of Hialeah as his running mate at the Freedom Tower.

Florida Politics also reported that Donalds held a town hall Tuesday at Florida A&M University. The outlet added that Democratic City Commissioners Cynthia Chestnut of Gainesville and Anne Huffman of Haines City have endorsed him.

A St. Pete Polls survey for Florida Politics found Donalds at 16% among Black voters, with the race at 44% to 43% against Democrat David Jolly.

The outlet further reported that Jolly has declined to debate Donalds and that the Republican campaign released a 60-second ad arguing that Jolly has been debating himself for years. It also said that, as of Sept. 11, Donalds had nearly $44 million on hand, compared with roughly $6.3 million for Jolly.

Vote-by-mail ballots were sent to Miami-Dade voters on Sept. 24, Florida Politics reported.
