Aguilera backed the changes in Health and said Peña is closely following the negotiations with doctors

Colorado Party lawmaker Alejandro Aguilera backed the changes ordered by President Santiago Peña in the Health area and said, according to La Nación Paraguay, that the move comes amid wear and tear on former minister María Teresa Barán.
In remarks reproduced by that outlet, the lawmaker said he supports the president’s decision and stated that there is political will in the Government on health matters. He also stressed that investments are reaching the sector.
On the arrival of Isaías Fretes at the Ministry of Public Health, Aguilera said he is a figure with credibility, a condition he considered key in the face of the conflict with the medical unions. Ahead of the mobilization announced by doctors for next week, Aguilera said he was confident that talks could move forward and stated that it is possible to break the strike. In that context, he assured that Peña is very involved in the search for a solution.
La Nación Paraguay added that, regarding the bill declaring a state of emergency at the IPS, the lawmaker said his bloc will first review the changes introduced by the Senate before taking a position.
